Washington, Agency : There has been a report of the presence of police stations linked to China in America. This has given sleepless nights to the US investigative agency FBI. It has been claimed in the report that secret police stations linked to China have been opened across America. The FBI has expressed concern over this. China, however, denies the existence of such police stations.
Stations opened in many places of the world including America
According to the BBC, in September a report by the NGO Safeguard Defenders revealed that China’s Public Security Bureau has opened police service stations across several continents. One police station is also present in Glasgow and two in London. Whereas in North America such police stations are operating in Toronto and New York. FBI Director Christopher Wray told a US Senate committee that the agency is monitoring reports of the existence of such police stations across the country.
FBI director expressed concern
“We are aware of these stations,” he told the Senate Homeland Security Committee. It is highly objectionable to open a police station inside our country and in a place like New York. It is not right at all to do this without any information. This is a violation of sovereignty. According to the NGO, such police stations abroad have been opened to prevent international crimes and provide administrative services to Chinese citizens living abroad. These police stations are also used to execute some dangerous plans.
Christopher Wray further said, ‘I am very worried about this. Wray told the US Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee hearing that we know about the existence of these stations. He acknowledged the FBI’s investigative work on the issue, but declined to provide details.
