Washington, Agency. Indian Americans Pay Six Percent Taxes: The Indian-American community has been lauded in the US Parliament. Republican Congressman Rich McCormick told all his colleagues in the House that one percent of Indian-Americans in the US pay about six percent of taxes. At the same time, the MP also emphasized that this community does not create problems in the country and follows the laws.
‘Indians are honest citizens’
McCormick is a doctor by profession and represents the Georgia district. He defeated Bob Christian of the Democratic Party in the November 8, 2022 midterm elections. During his speech in the House, 54-year-old McCormick also said on Thursday that one in five doctors in his community is Indian. Along with this, he described Indian-Americans in Parliament as great patriots, honest citizens and good friends.
‘The role of Indians is commendable’
Georgia has a sizeable number of Indian-Americans. The MP lauded the Indians in the House and said that he stood up to especially appreciate those who have immigrated from India. He told that the population of Indians here is about 100,000. Richard said that the role of Indians in American society is commendable and important. Therefore, the immigration process in the country should be streamlined for them. He further said that he is looking forward to meeting the Ambassador of India.
