Governor K. Ivey imposes state of emergency in Alabama

More than 250 flights canceled due to tornado
The Autauga, Chambers, Coosa, Dallas, Elmore and Tallapoosa areas were hardest hit by Thursday’s severe tornadoes in Alabama. Strong winds and heavy rain damaged homes and left tens of thousands abandoned. Thousands of customers are without power in parts of Georgia. People are also living without power in Mississippi and Alabama. People’s lives have been badly affected by the tornado in Alabama. More than 250 flights were canceled at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and Charlotte Douglas International Airport, and several were delayed due to the tornado.
