The Swiss secure operating system AphyOS continues to be developed. The publisher’s online services have just been unveiled under the Aphy apps banner. They are already available on Punkt’s MP02 minimalist phone.
We spoke to you in our February 16 issue ofAphyOS, a secure operating system project, based on the open source version of Android. The project has been launched by the Swiss company Apostrophy AG and should equip several smartphones before the end of 2023.
AphyOS and Aphy Apps
If the AphyOS operating system has not yet been finalized, the publisher’s online services have just been revealed. They would be based on NextCloud.
Apps Apps
In addition to the operating system, the company has just launched a bouquet of online services (a kind of alternative to Google, Microsoft or even Proton). Appy Apps includes 5GB of storage, secure email, calendar and address book. Everything can be synchronized with mobile devices. The hosting is secure in Switzerland, without advertising or data collection.
DailyView on MP02
These services also include MP02 mobile phone from Punkt, a Swiss manufacturer of minimalist devices. This mobile phone based on an ultra-simplified version of Android, with BlackBerry services, can now display your appointments via a new function, Daily view (Daily View), thanks to an update to the operating system.
Aphy apps: how to test
It is possible to test free services for 1 month, but nothing is free afterwards. The price to pay for the security of your personal data, according to the publisher. The partnership between Apostrophy and Punkt is not without interest: currently you benefit from a 65% reduction on the price of Aphy Apps services thanks to the code DAILYVIEWMP02 given to MP02.
Item MP02: where to buy it
Also, if the MP02 interests you, you should know that it is equipped with Pigeon, a personal version of the Signal messaging application.
You can find copies of Item MP02 at a price of €329 including VAT with free delivery. Some refurbished copies available at a lower price.
