Three months after an alleged case of road rage in Boisbriand, whose images went viral after being published on social networks, TVA Nouvelles has learned that this week the driver was formally charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a prohibited weapon, namely cayenne pepper, without having a permit that allows it.
This is Pascale Gauthier, 58, from Sainte-Thérèse.
She will return to court in July at the Saint-Jérôme courthouse.
On the afternoon of February 22, on the boulevard du Faubourg in Boisbriand, we can see the driver let go of the steering wheel of his moving vehicle to hold a bottle in both hands before spraying an orange liquid on the occupants of the vehicle. filming the scene.
“Take the plate! […] Call the police!”, we can hear after the gesture from the lady.
One of the two sprayed victims, who luckily was uninjured, turned up the next day at the police station and a ‘brief investigation’ led to the irate driver being located.
On Friday, TVA Nouvelles was able to reach the complainant Maya Farjallah, who explains that her friend who was driving was driving safely that day.
She would simply take the other lane and take the spot left by a truck that would also change lanes.
But according to Ms Farjallah, Pascale Gauthier, who was in her vehicle nearby, began to accelerate and showed signs of impatience.
A few seconds later, Mrs. Gauthier took out cayenne pepper and sprayed the two passengers without, however, reaching them.
The reasons that led this woman to act in this way are not yet known.
